Black Friday & Cyber Monday

I need an intervention. Can't. Stop. Shopping. I have champagne taste with beer money, and my bank accounts hate it.

With that said, I might as well show off what I got. I almost had to fight a 40 year old lady for a Michael Kors Tote (totally would have been worth it...)

My main success was at Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, Aerie, and the Navy Exchange.

So... yea. Pretty sure I single-handedly contributed to a new Loft opening somewhere... you're welcome.

I also got some lovely undergarments from Aerie, and some birthday and Christmas presents for family members that I didn't include pictures of. I picked out a Michael Kors tote and MK wallet that is going to be from my parents for my birthday in two weeks... you'll have to wait till my birthday post to see it there. :) (they're fab). Black Friday was a definite success!

Thanksgiving

My first post-grad thanksgiving was amazing! I didn't have a whole week off like I did in college, but just having Thursday and Friday off of work, making it a 4-day weekend, seemed like an eternity! It was such a nice break.

I went to Virginia Beach for Thanksgiving where my mom's whole side of the family lives. The only thing that *sucked* about being a post-grad is that I couldn't go out on Thanksgiving Eve, the biggest drinking day of the year! :'( By the time I got off work on Wednesday, it would have a disaster driving in Thanksgiving traffic on 95 South to Va Beach - so my dad and I left Thursday morning at 4:30 am.

I spent all day Thursday with family and eating massive amounts of food. I spent Friday shopping with my mom for Black Friday (blog post to come). We came back to northern VA Friday night, did more shopping Saturday and went out in DC that night, and then relaxed, cleaned my room, and hung around the house Sunday. Such a great combination of activities in just 4 days!

It's definitely fall in virginia beach

Help me, I'm Poor

In the famous words of Kristen Wiig from Bridesmaides.... help me, I'm poor! I seriously have the hardest time saving money from my paychecks... and I'm not even paying rent! I have pin-pointed the reason I can't save any money. TARGET

My friend once told me it's known as the "hundred dollar store" and now I know why.

I always need the most random things -  example of today's list: auxiliary cord, new water bottle, flossers, black winter heel-wedgess. I am also the BIGGEST sucker for cute things I don't need such as fuzzy socks, funny/cute papyrus cards, new essie colors, yummy-smelling lotion, iPhone cases, scarves, jewelry, anything travel size, and of course my biggest Target weak spot... shoes. That mixed with food / groceries (we have a super target) = straight up money vacuum.

This time of year is wonderfullllll, but so much spending! My birthday and my sister's are in December, along with Christmas and black Friday shopping... I don't think I'll be saving much money from my paychecks until January! At least I'm being realistic?

Is Target a weakness for all post grads?! We had one at school but it wasn't my spot, way back then. ;)

Finally found Wrinkle Release after searching everywhere... little excited.

Onesie.

My new winter wedges... obsessed

Want these boots so much... somehow resisted the temptation today

Target sunglasses + hungover + CapThat = this.

And just for pure entertainment.... after our Target trip today, my friend dropped something under my bed and had to search for it and, well, got stuck. We were struggling a little from a late night out. I died.

Girl's Weekend

This past weekend, I went to my friend's house an hour away. Her parents were out of town, so we dog-sat and held down the fort ;) (or at least the full bar in the basement and the hot tub outside).

It was just her and my one other good friend - so the three of us. It reminded me of how great of a time you can have without going out (and spending lots of $$$), meeting guys, or doing anything extravagant at all.

She lives "over the river and through the woods" so we did drive to town to go to the mall, but other than that we had such a blast hanging at the house, catching up, playing with her dog, being silly, and eating & drinking massive amounts.

One of the biggest things I miss from being in college, which I've definitely discussed on here before, is the transition of living 5 seconds away from all your best friends to.... an hour, two, three, four...eight - you get the point.

Being together all weekend long and riding together to get smoothies, laying on the couch to watch a movie, showing each other YouTube videos, walking the dog around the neighborhood, helping concoct amazing mojitos, all getting ready in the same bathroom, those are the "small things" I miss! (Ok, ok, maybe not sharing a bathroom).

Usually when I meet  up with friends now, it's for dinner or going out or for one specific event, since there's not a lot of spare time in the 9-5 world. But what I miss most are the little moments of crying laughing at horrible TV shows, experimenting with a new recipe in someone's kitchen, a late night FroYo run, someone to go to Walmart with, or just talking shit on someone's bed together. Honestly, that's what I'm looking so forward to when I move out and live with or close to friends again, which seems so silly.

Sometimes the best weekends are the ones where you don't plan anything at all -- besides spending 3 days with the people you love.

It's the little things people.
